My week of unstructured training it over, Time to get back into it over the last week i didnt "train" much, more did bits and peices. For the next while i want to add some variety in. What i enjoy about crossfit is not the metcons (surprise surprise) but the focus on performance. To me that is not being able to do a lot of work in a short amount of time, but being able to move well. Really well. Yeah sure a 200kg squat is great even when its grindy and a bit ugly, but i would be much happier with a clean and smooth 180kg. I do not feel i move as well as i would like, so i want to make this a priority. Of late i have been looking at Ido Portal, Matt Wichlinski and Dean Somerset's stuff and like the balance between good old barbell strength training, bodyweight, gymnastics and just being able to move well.
My plan is to keep squats, snatches and cleans as a staple Incoperate more single leg and transition movements as a warm up. Add in some more handbalancing and upper body bodyweight exercises, ive also been neglecting my "core" so i need to get that in as well.

130726 Pm (with Dan R) hang clean 40-90 (10kg jumps, doubles up to 80 then singles power clean+ pause jerk 50-100 (trying out pause jerk, (dip, pause, jerk) acutally get you under the bar faster snatch balance (with dave and tama) 8x3 40-45 5second snatch to get it up

Am 2km row 8:05, didnt feel too bad just couldnt find a rhythm some neglected midline stablity 4x15s hollow + 30 second plank. 45s rest
Pm back squat 130x2x6 hang snatch 60kgx2x4 (1 hhpull first) starting to feel more natural again 3 position snatch 40kgx4x3 (felt too light all over the place) push press up to 110, (was going to jerk but didnt feel great on the wrist)

pretty happy with fsquat since 130 back felt rubbish earlier in the arvo
